Vlad III, Dragon Blood

This is the sequel to VANYA, the First Vampire, as spinoff of Metamorphs.

Vlad II received the surname Dracul in 1431, after being inducted into the Order of the Dragon, founded in 1408 by the King Sigismund of Hungary (the later Holy Roman Emperor), as part of a design to gain political favor from the Catholic Church and to aid in protecting Wallachia against the Ottoman Empire.

According to history, Vlad II was the son of prince Mircea the Great, from Wallachia, and later in life he joined the Order of the Dragon, founded in 1408 by the King Sigismund of Hungary (the later Holy Roman Emperor), as part of a design to gain political favor from the Catholic Church and to aid in protecting Wallachia against the Ottoman Empire.

According to the legend, Vanya came from far in time and space, from a world inside our world between the northern and the southern poles; a place where there is no darkness, and she came to bring light to Vlad’s darkness and to chase away his nightmares. Vanya was a creature of light, pure, innocent; they met in the world of the dreams, and they created a bond that was not to be broken; but all dreams must end.

When the time to return home came, it was far to late for Vanya as she was touched by darkness and she lost her way back home. She fell down to our world, and to gain material body she took the life force of the vampire bat and the dust of the ground of Wallachia beneath her.

They eventually met again as man and woman, they loved each other and they conceived a child and so, Vlad III son of Dracul was born, to one day become Vlad the impeller, “Dracula”.

The Art

Vlad III, Prince of Wallachia (1431–1476/77), was a member of the House of Drăculești, a branch of the House of Basarab, also known, using his patronymic, as Vlad Drăculea or Vlad Dracula (Old Church Slavonic: Владъ Дрьколъ). He was posthumously dubbed Vlad the Impaler (modernRomanian: Vlad Țepeș, pronounced [ˈvlad ˈt͡sepeʃ])

He was a three-time Voivode of Wallachia, ruling mainly from 1456 to 1462, the period of the incipient Ottoman conquest of the Balkans. His father, Vlad II Dracul, was a member of the Order of the Dragon, which was founded to protect Christianity in Eastern Europe. Vlad III is revered as a folk hero in Romania and Bulgaria for his protection of the Romanians and Bulgarians both north and south of theDanube. Following his raids on the Ottomans, a significant number of Bulgarian common folk and remaining boyars resettled north of the Danube to Wallachia and recognized his leadership.

As the cognomen "The Impaler" suggests, his practice of impaling his enemies is part of his historical reputation.[2] During his lifetime, his reputation for excessive cruelty spread abroad, to Germany and elsewhere in Europe. The name of the vampire Count Dracula in Bram Stoker's 1897 novel Dracula was inspired by Vlad's patronymic and reputation.

Our story begins in the year 1400, two generations before Dracula, with his father Vlad II and his grandfather prince Mircea the Great.

The story of Vlad III  beggins with his birth in the dungeons of a cavern in transilvania where Vanya was taken prisioner held by silver chains.

Inspiration

In an update of Bram Stoker's iconic novel, Dracula travels to London, pretending to be an American entrepreneur with an interest in bringing modern science to Victorian England. The guise conceals the vampire's much darker plans for revenge against those who ruined his life centuries earlier. His plan hits a snag when he meets and falls deeply in love with a woman who appears to be the reincarnation of his dead wife. Golden Globe winner Jonathan Rhys-Meyers plays the title role in this provocative drama.
